[Ancient Gold Appraisal] Buying and selling Sun Yat-sen's five-star commemorative coins and one-yuan silver coins from the founding of the Republic of China.

In 1927, the Sun Yat-sen commemorative coin was reminted. The new version was produced by the Tianjin Mint, and its reverse side featured five-pointed stars on both sides of the English inscription. However, it was not widely issued. Subsequently, mints in Nanjing, Tianjin, Sichuan, Zhejiang, and Hainan successively minted multiple versions, such as single-day, double-day, dotted grass, sun character version, three-flower version, lower five-star, upper five-star, upper six-star, and protruding round coin.

1. Five-pointed star version: This version features a five-pointed star at both the 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock positions on the reverse. It is relatively rare and has a high market value, with many imitations. Collectors should be especially careful, as many ordinary six-pointed stars have been altered to resemble the five-pointed star version. The hair on the Sun Yat-sen portrait in the five-pointed star version is more detailed, and the wheat ears on either side of the characters "壹圆" (One Yuan) on the reverse are shorter.

2. Sun-shaped Flower Edition: The floral branches on both sides of the Sun Yat-sen portrait on the front are composed of three vertical branches and two horizontal branches forming a reclining "日" (sun) character, hence the name. This edition commands a slightly higher market price.

3. Dotted Grass Version: The top of the flower branch on the front has two horizontal dots, and the price is similar to the Protruding Round Version.

4. Protruding Round Version: The top of the character "圆" (round) on the reverse side extends beyond the outer frame, hence the name. Its market price is not significantly different from the regular version.

5. Single-day and Double-day versions: The distinguishing feature is the character "开" (kai) in the obverse of the "Founding Commemorative Coin". In the single-day version, a horizontal line connects the two ends of the character "开" within a frame at the top, while in the double-day version, both frames are connected by horizontal lines. The single-day version is rarer, thus increasing its collectible value.

6. Three-flower version: This refers to the version where the flower branches on both sides of the portrait of Sun Yat-sen on the front are in the shape of three-petaled flowers, and it is divided into two versions: left and right three-flower and right three-flower.
