How Gu Jin Jian Bao appraises

We identify the item first, then discuss the buyback value

Items with the same name can differ sharply by variety and condition. Send photos first so we can review the direction, then arrange an in-person appraisal where needed.

4-step appraisal process

  1. 01

    Send clear photos

Photograph the front, back, edge, details, packaging and certificates, then send them by WhatsApp or WeChat.

  2. 02

    Receive a first direction

We first review category, variety, condition and approximate market level, then tell you which angles to add.

  3. 03

    Arrange in-person appraisal

For valuable or uncertain items, we can arrange viewing in Hong Kong or Macau.

Seller FAQ

Know these points before discussing value

Should I clean a dark silver coin or natural patina first?

No. Natural patina is an important clue for authenticity and condition. Wiping, polishing or chemical cleaning can reduce value.

Can you estimate from only one or two photos?

We can give an initial direction, but the final buyback value still depends on physical weight, edge, sound, surface, repair traces and overall condition.

Is in-person buyback charged separately?

Photo review is free. If the item appears suitable, we can discuss an in-person appraisal and handover arrangement in Hong Kong or Macau.

How do I know whether the buyback price is reasonable?

We explain the key factors, including variety, rarity, condition, material, recent comparable transactions and physical risk.

Quick appraisal by collectible type

Do not judge by category image alone. Details decide value.

Clear before any handover

We do not use vague high-price claims. We explain the appraisal logic.

Antiques and old coins are easy to misjudge when information is uneven. We review photos first, confirm physical details when needed, and explain what should be preserved as-is.

Start with photos. There is no pressure to sell.

01

Do not clean items yourself

Silver coin patina, original banknote condition and porcelain glaze are appraisal clues. Cleaning, polishing, tape repair or amateur restoration can reduce value.

02

We explain price factors first

We review variety, authenticity risk, condition, recent transactions and market demand instead of using vague high-price language.

03

Private HK/Macau handover

For valuable or uncertain items, viewing can be arranged in Hong Kong or Macau. Cash or transfer settlement is completed after both sides confirm the sale.

Prepare these photos for a more accurate reply

  • Banknotes and stamps

Full front and back photos, plus serial numbers, corners, reverse side, stains and damage.

  • Porcelain and antiques
