[Ancient Gold Appraisal] Buying and selling Qing Dynasty Xuantong 3rd Year Curved-Beard Dragon One Yuan Silver Coin

[Ancient Gold Appraisal] Buying and selling Qing Dynasty Xuantong 3rd Year Curved-Beard Dragon One Yuan Silver Coin

The style of the silver dollar from the third year of the Xuantong reign (1911) of the Qing Dynasty stands out among the dragon dollar series. Its numerous variations, beautiful appearance, and imposing presence have made it a favorite among collectors. In the second year of the Xuantong reign (1910), the Qing government ordered the Ministry of Finance to draft the "Regulations on National Currency." These regulations stipulated that silver dollars minted from the third year of the Xuantong reign onwards would no longer bear provincial names, but would be uniformly prefixed with the year of issue, and denominated in yuan. The obverse of the coin features the four characters "大清银币" (Great Qing Silver Coin), while the reverse depicts a coiled dragon. Several varieties exist, including the long-bearded dragon, short-bearded dragon, inverted S-shaped dragon, large-tailed dragon, and curved-bearded dragon, but only the curved-bearded dragon was actually minted and circulated.

The Xuantong 3rd year (1911) Curved-Beard Dragon One Yuan coin is highly sought after by collectors in the current ancient coin market due to its historical significance and rarity. A well-preserved Curved-Beard Dragon silver coin can fetch tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of yuan in the buyback market, depending on its condition, mintage, and market demand.
