Designed and trial-minted by the Tianjin Mint in 1929, the 1929 (Republic of China Year 18) Sun Yat-sen portrait with globe and double flags one-yuan silver coin features a portrait of Sun Yat-sen in attire on the obverse, with the inscription "Republic of China Year 18" above. The reverse depicts crossed Kuomintang party flags and the Republic of China flag standing on a globe, with the inscription "One Yuan" below. The outer rim is inscribed with the English meaning "Republic of China." This Sun Yat-sen portrait with globe and double flags one-yuan silver coin was only trial-minted in fewer than fifteen pieces and was never officially issued. It is one of the most valuable varieties of modern Chinese machine-made coins. With its extremely high artistic and aesthetic value, the 1929 Sun Yat-sen portrait globe one-yuan coin has remained valuable over time and is considered a treasure by a new generation of collectors.
