[Ancient Gold Appraisal] Buying and selling Japanese Meiji 11th year "Silver" proof version one yen silver coin.

The Japanese Meiji 11th year "Silver" proof version of the one yen coin is a very rare trial proof coin. Its characteristics are different from the one yen silver coins in circulation at that time, and it has unique historical and collectible value.

The most distinctive feature of this version is the "silver" character marking. To the left of the inscription "壹圆" (One Yen) on the obverse, there is a clear "silver" character. This is the most obvious difference between the trial coin and the ordinary circulating silver coin. The reverse features a traditional Japanese dragon pattern, symbolizing power and imperial authority. The pattern is richly detailed, with the dragon coiled within the central circle. It is made of high-purity silver, with a silver content of approximately 90%, consistent with most circulating silver coins in Japan at the time.

Because this "silver" character proof coin is a trial coin, its quantity is extremely limited, making it highly valuable in the collector's market. Such versions were typically not circulated and were used solely for experimental purposes; therefore, any proof coin preserved to this day is of great collectible value.
