[Ancient Gold Appraisal] Buying and selling Sun Yat-sen portrait Republic of China National Government Mausoleum One Yuan - Sun Xiaotou Commemorative Coin

The Sun Yat-sen portrait silver dollar issued in 1927, commemorating the tombs of the Nationalist Government of the Republic of China, was engraved by the Vienna Mint and trial-minted by the Nanjing Mint. Because the portrait on the coin did not accurately capture Sun Yat-sen's appearance, it was never officially issued. Only 480 trial coins were produced and given as gifts to relevant individuals, making them extremely rare and valuable. Later versions were also trial-minted, but the Chinese characters on the coin required further refinement, making this particular silver coin even more precious.

This coin was issued in extremely limited quantities and coincides with a significant historical juncture: the victory of the Northern Expedition of the National Revolutionary Army, the collapse of the Beiyang Government, and the establishment of the National Government's capital in Nanjing. It also commemorates the recently deceased pioneer of the democratic revolution, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and thus possesses extremely high historical and collectible value.

The silver coin employs Western bas-relief techniques, resulting in lifelike figures and making it a masterpiece of silver coin design and minting. In the same year, the Nationalist government built the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum on Zhongshan Mountain in Nanjing, leading many to mistakenly believe the reverse of the coin depicts the mausoleum. In reality, it is a design of the Presidential Palace of the Republic of China. Therefore, this coin is often referred to as the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Commemorative Silver Coin.
