Item details and appraisal notes
This large United States sheet contains thirty-two joined one-dollar notes. Its value and position count are clear starting points, but the series year, Federal Reserve district, plate details, serial pattern and any surviving presentation material must be read from the sheet in hand.
US one-dollar 32-note sheet: format before close detail
| Evidence point | What this sheet establishes |
|---|---|
| Stated identity | United States one-dollar uncut sheet |
| Issue year | Not stated |
| Denomination | One US dollar per note |
| Joined format | Thirty-two joined notes |
| Evidence boundary | Do not borrow a series year, district, seal, plate position or serial relationship from a loose one-dollar note. A single note cannot provide this full sheet's margins or arrangement. |
Count and map the thirty-two positions
Complete grid: Photograph both accessible faces with all thirty-two note positions, outer margins and internal gutters visible. If one image cannot hold sufficient detail, use overlapping views and mark their order without trimming the perimeter.
Dimensions, district and numbers: Measure the full sheet only where it can be reached without pulling the paper. Where a district identifier, series date, prefix or serial is legible, show it inside the 32-position grid and avoid assuming that adjacent numbers form a sequence.
Large-sheet paper condition: Use broad neutral light to compare tone across the grid, then a shallow angle to locate folds, handling dents, edge tears, pinholes, stains and repairs. Map every close view back to its row, column and nearest outer edge.
Margins, presentation material and serials
Portfolio, tube or certificate: A tube, portfolio or certificate is relevant only when it remains with this sheet. Photograph it separately and do not let an accessory provide a series date, district or serial pattern that the paper does not show.
Readable number positions: If serials can be seen, capture enough surrounding design to identify each position. Do not describe the numbers as consecutive, matched or special until every relevant character has been checked.
Outer edges and gutters: Follow tears, folds or repairs across the nearest gutters and show whether they reach a printed note. Keep the complete outer margins visible so trimming and paper loss are not disguised by the crop.
Support a 32-note sheet without forcing it flat
Use a broad clean surface and allow any existing curl to remain. Do not force this sheet onto a flat plane and do not separate any of the thirty-two notes. Make no watermark claim from the denomination alone; photograph a watermark only if it is actually visible.
Handling context for a large joined sheet
For storage principles, browse Silver Dollars and First–Fourth Series Renminbi and review Renminbi Uncut Sheets: Layout, Dimensions and Condition Records. Use the advice without treating a Renminbi example as evidence for this United States sheet.

Questions before an appraisal
What should you check before selling?
What matters depends on the item. Photograph both sides, the edge, hallmarks or base marks, and any damage. Include the original box, certificate or weight information where relevant so we can decide whether an in-person inspection is needed.
