Write only what the Third Series RMB note shows
Do not let an old label or similar online note settle the series, denomination or layout. Begin with visible face-value wording, date text and principal designs under one note number.
Preserve length, width, measuring tool and unit with that note. Keep each photograph, reading and enclosure attached to the same number.
Evidence awaiting paper review
When transmitted-light structure or a proposed watermark is unclear, return to the complete note and record the precise location. Separate illegible, unsupported and inaccessible areas.
Remove inherited story details that cannot identify the object. The record should remain neutral about outcome and market value.
Keep dimensions, serials and corners together
Photograph the note square to the camera with all four corners visible, then add the entire serial string, lettering, design junctions and damage details.
Record only structures seen under broad, even transmitted light. Do not presume that every layout contains a watermark, security thread or optical element.
Describe transmitted light without inventing features
List folds, tears, corner losses, stains, mould, adhesive, infill, recolouring and pressing by position instead of reducing the paper to one grade word.
Retain the original colour file because illumination, white balance and an aged sleeve can shift appearance. Do not use filters to deepen print or watermark outlines.
Group the series and denomination before variants
Transcribe visible series, denomination, date wording, designs and serial before using a market nickname. Leave an unconfirmed layout open.
One note number covers front, back, four corners, edges, dimensions and current sleeve. A detail that cannot return to that note stays outside its condition summary.
Preserve the paper's existing state
Keep bundles, serial runs, album pages and adhered notes in their original order until their seals and relationships have been documented. Do not iron or force them apart.
Original photographs support first-stage classification, while paper feel, fine repair and printing layers may still require independent examination of the object.
Return Third Series RMB layout claims to the complete note
Reconcile the series, denomination, date wording and main designs with the full front and back, then place prefix and serial at their actual print positions. Do not identify a layout from a number cropped away from its note.
Give every Third Series RMB note its own dimensions, corner views and transmitted-light map. A group photograph proves how many items were present, not which paper feature belongs to which serial.
Locate folds, tears, stains, pressing, infill or replaced corners against the complete face. Keep the measuring tool, unit and light direction with the relevant observation.
If a sleeve or album blocks a margin, describe that obstruction before proposing contact or opening. The current paper state takes priority over a missing photograph.
Send the packaged note with an open-item list naming the unresolved series feature, print position, dimension or condition area. Each question should point to one location.
