The front depicts the combination of teachers and labor production, in dark brown and light purple; the back features the national emblem and chrysanthemums, in dark brown and light green, commonly known as "back green" or "back green corner". Due to the similar color and layout of the back to the two-jiao banknote in the same series, it was easily confused during transactions, so it was recalled early. This RMB was issued on January 10, 1966. From December 15, 1967, it was only accepted for deposit, not for withdrawal. The engraved year is "1962". According to the order of issuance, there are two types: one with a red-printed three-Roman, seven-digit solid five-pointed star watermark on the front intaglio, and another with a red-printed three-Roman, seven-digit non-watermark on the front intaglio.
