[Ancient Gold Appraisal] Buying and selling Republic of China Year 18 Sun Yat-sen Jiahe 20-cent coins, five coins equal one dollar.

The 1929 (Republic of China Year 18) Sun Yat-sen 20-cent silver coin is extremely rare. It is said that only six pieces exist, all of which are trial coins. This coin was minted in 1929 by the Tianjin Mint.

The obverse of the silver coin features a profile portrait of Sun Yat-sen at the center, symbolizing his important role as the founding leader of the Republic of China and his significant position in modern Chinese history. Above the portrait is the inscription "Republic of China Year 18," indicating that the coin was minted in 1929. The reverse features the inscription "Two Jiao" vertically in the center, indicating the coin's face value of two jiao (0.2 yuan). The reverse is decorated with ears of grain (rice) on both sides, symbolizing a bountiful harvest and national prosperity. The design of ears of grain is very common and symbolic in modern Chinese silver coins.

The market value of a 2-jiao silver coin varies depending on its condition, such as wear and tear and clarity. Coins in excellent condition typically fetch higher prices at auctions or in the collector's market. GuJin Appraisal specializes in buying and selling all types of silver coins; please contact us.
