Reading the T90 Rat design across a complete sheet
Issue identity: Use a square-on photograph to count the Jiazi-year stamps and locate the T90 inscriptions. The rat image, 8-fen denomination and 8 × 10 arrangement should be readable without sacrificing the outer sheet edges.
Paper, gum and size: Measure one stamp at 26 × 31 mm and follow the P11.5 perforations through several row-and-column intersections. Record the gum side under even light, with folds or disturbed patches tied to numbered positions.
Condition map: Rat sheets often need two scales of condition photography: one view for the complete margins and one for local teeth, foxing or separation. Keep plate or factory inscriptions with their original edge rather than cropping them into isolated labels.
Supporting the T90 sheet at perforation junctions
Place the whole Jiazi-year sheet on a clean, flat support before turning it. Do not pull at an internal separation or press an old fold; photograph mounts and interleaving first, and keep bare fingers away from the gum.
Margins, 80 positions and storage evidence on T90
Perforations and margins: Trace the outer P11.5 line and then the internal crosses where four stamps meet. A short tooth, split junction or trimmed Rat-sheet margin needs a close view plus its row-and-column location.
Completeness: Count eight rows and ten columns on the front and reconcile them with the reverse. Any missing, replaced or detached T90 stamp should be identified by position instead of being concealed by the overall count.
Album and packaging: Retain the album page, interleaf or wrapper with the Rat sheet and show every contact point. Storage material may explain toning or adhesion, but it does not establish that an incomplete edge was originally present.
